Our Jar of Crunchies

This pan toasted combo takes five minutes to make and promises to become one of your go-to pantry staples!

This right here is our Jar of Crunchies, an absolute pantry staple in this casa! Ideal for food prep and batch cooking, this nutty, toasty, roasty mix is fantastic to have on hand for endless kitchen and culinary needs. It also makes a really cool and engaging sensory activity to enjoy with kids. Cecily always helps to prep our next batch and loves sorting the ingredients and adding them to the jar.

This salty, slightly sweet, savory, crunchy combo is the ultimate addition to salads, soups, granola or trail mix for added texture, flavor, and on the go snacking. It takes just a few minutes to make, stocking you up for quite a while. In my opinion, it’s also a total bonus knowing what ingredients have gone into creating and flavoring your food.

This holiday season, spread the love! Dress a batch up with some ribbon to create a beautiful and delicious gift to share with your gracious party hosts.

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 10 Minutes

Yield: About 1 Pound of Crunchies

Ingredients

1 cup halved walnuts

1 cup halved pecans

1 cup slivered almonds

¼ cup pignoli nuts

1 cup unsweetened coconut chips

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1 tablespoon olive oil

Kosher salt to taste (I use about a teaspoon)

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a skillet and stir to coat with olive oil and salt. Toast over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently to avoid burning and ensure even toasting. Remove from heat once the nuts are toasted and golden, and continue to stir in the pan for two more minutes. Transfer to a large mason jar and store at room temperature, or the refrigerator to prolong freshness.
